In 1973 the Ministry of Finance renovated one of the most
beautiful baroque monuments of the State of Minas Gerais: the "Casa dos
Contos". Built between 1782 and 1784 in the historic city of Ouro Preto,
Minas Gerais, it was always linked to tax activities. Now it houses a museum,
the Gold Cycle Research Center, and Ouro Preto's Federal Revenue office.
